Seeking the highest calibre of agribusiness manager with a salary package negotiated to match. An exciting opportunity for a proven leader to join this large, rapidly expanding, innovative and progressive business building the greatest land custodian, land restoration and beef supply chain business in the world. The journey has started, and the future is clear.

Our clients are a large Australian owned corporate cattle company focused on operating successful sustainable and profitable agricultural enterprises. Just one of the companies’ enterprises is an aggregation of 4 cattle stations located in the Western Downs / Maranoa regions of South Western Queensland on 21,000 hectares of improved grazing and cropping country with a target carrying capacity of 12,800 cattle for backgrounding which are grazed under Regeneration Agriculture principles. The properties have recently been through a major development including large scale infrastructure upgrades and pasture renovation.

We seek an experienced Station Manager to be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of the property’s operation and for providing strong leadership within the organisation. The company has clear goals for the future that include not only profitable agricultural enterprises but also sustainable land management, and a safe and prosperous working environment for its employees.

To be successful in this role, the Station Manager will be required to maintain an appropriate balance between economic return, human relations, and environmental sustainability. You will be required to plan, budget, report and be accountable for all aspects of the operation under your control and effectively communicate this to the entire team.

The successful applicant must have -

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior agricultural management role including a solid base of hands-on knowledge of large, successful cattle enterprises.
  • Post-secondary qualification in Agriculture or Agribusiness would be an advantage.
  • A strong interest in regenerative and/or sustainable agricultural practices and fodder cropping experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience with rotational grazing practices, use of grazing charts and ability to create grass budgets on a SDH per 100mm of rainfall method.
  • Grazing For Profit and Low Stress Stock handling course advantageous.
  • High level of business acumen commensurate with the scale of the operation.
  • High level staff engagement, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to set and implement plans and strategies for production in line with company policies and within the strategic framework.
A generous remuneration package plus tailored performance program will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The package includes a recently renovated Station Managers house, vehicle, mobile, laptop and fuel.
