Full Time Contracts Administrator

$90,000 – $110,000 per year

The Company:

Sterling and Wilson are a solar EPC Provider, providing customised solutions for solar power projects including for third parties operating in more than 26 countries with a presence in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Australia.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our our project site in Columboola QLD. Reporting directly to the Project Manager on site, the purpose of your role is to oversee the effective management of subcontractors through all phases with particular focus on the administration of subcontracts and other agreements.


  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients/subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain the project agreement templates
  • Participate in scope of works planning, ensuring that scope gaps are minimised, cost efficiencies are maximised
  • Ensure all agreements are consistent with any negotiated and / or approved position and are executed by subcontractors prior to commencing works
  • Ensure all contractual obligations under the subcontract are maintained and administered in accordance with the conditions and provisions of the agreement
  • Review of legitimacy of, and undertake the assessment of, subcontractor variations in conjunction with the construction teams
  • Manage any disputes or major claims with subcontractor
  • Review of legitimacy of claims for delays, acceleration, and extension of time in accordance with the contract and in conjunction with the project team, provide advice and drafting of appropriate responses to subcontractors’ claims
  • Finalise all subcontracts (including supply agreements and professional services agreements) and obtain an executed deed of release
  • Analyse financial reports, including variance, trend analysis and make recommendations

Skills and experience:

  • Contracts, administrative tools
  • Contracts Admin Diploma OR equivalent work experience and / or training
  • 2 - 5 years of experience as a Contracts Administrator within industry related disciplines
  • Proven ability to interpret relevant legislation/code and its application on the project to prevent potential business exposure
  • Extensive Knowledge of project management structure, plans and implications for contract and commercial accountabilities
  • Extensive Knowledge of the tender (methodology, costings and constraints), contractual agreement, claim and dispute management
  • Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly
  • Excellent skills in MS Outlook (especially Excel), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, construction cost accounting systems, and other business ICT systems
  • Detail oriented, thorough, and time conscious
  • Ability to interact with a range of key stakeholders (tech team, vendors, suppliers, managers, customers etc) and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work within a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability and willingness to travel to site on occasion
