About the role

  • You will provide support for the digital two-way radio system and associated services and coordinate activities relating to its expanded use within the organisation. In addition, the officer will progress initiatives relating to consolidation of telecommunications services within the Technology Services section. The digital two-way radio system provides two-way communication including emergency, lone worker and vehicle location capabilities for its fleet of vehicles.
  • The salary range for this position is $79,282.96 - $82,652.94 gross per annum plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

You will need: * The mandatory qualifications, training and/or experience as outlined in the "Position Success Criteria" of the attached Position Description.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills including the ability to contribute to the management of a section and undertake a range of functions for which operational policies, practices and guidelines may need to be developed.
  • Demonstrated organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a busy environment regarding the delivery of field worker communications services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation, management and support of two-way radio technologies highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and operation of wireless and networking technologies including switching, routing, microwave radio, spread spectrum and narrowband radio technologies.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and numeracy skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate and negotiate agreed actions and outcomes with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of and Commitment to Council's Organisational Value and Behaviour of "Teamwork".
